Kekana says Rivaldo is quality

READ: Pitso concerned about firepower The Sundowns captain lauded the signing of the former Ajax Cape Town defender and believes the youngster has taken the right step in his career. Coetzee signed for Sundowns on transfer deadline day, as Mario Booysen went in the opposite direction. Coetzee, who made his Bafana Bafana debut in 2014, will probably only return to action early in December as he is out nursing an injury which kept him out of the recent back-to-back 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde. It was stated that Coetzee has an underlying problem in his right foot. By the time he returns to full fitness, Sundowns will be well into the season and he will need to fight hard to get ahead of the likes of Motjeka Madisha, Wayne Arendse and Bangaly Soumahoro. “I am happy with the signing. The move for him is good and I am happy he made it. He is a quality player,” Kekana tells KickOff.com. “Sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone to grow as a player. At Ajax he was playing a big role and we brought him here to bring the same effort. He has the talent.” Kekana continues: “When you play for a team like Sundowns where there is pressure, you will grow. He has been playing for Bafana, so he has the experience of what happens on the continent. I am sure he will help us.” Downs coach Pitso Mosimane recently said he could not turn down the opportunity to sign the 20-year-old, even though he failed a medical at Scottish club Glasgow Celtic. He sees a bright future for the player at Sundowns. Kekana, meanwhile, was rested for Sundowns’ Absa Premiership match against Free State Stars on Monday, but will be back to face Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
